Rafael Guevara

Rafael Guevara was born in Caracas and received his musical education through Venezuela’s El Sistema orchestral and educational programme. From 1999 to 2005, he studied at the Instituto Universitario de Estudios Musicales in Caracas, graduating with a diploma.

He moved to Germany in 2006. In 2008, he completed a chamber music performance qualification specialising in contemporary music at the Cologne University of Music and Dance. This was followed by a master’s degree in instrumental teaching in Detmold and, in 2020, a master’s degree in cello in Münster. Masterclasses and lessons with internationally active cellists complemented his training.

Now based in Berlin, he works as a soloist, chamber musician and teacher, combining concert performance with the musical development of young people.
